no HD player no Blu Ray player and no HDTV. That will all change by the end of the year though. This year I'm getting a HDTV along with a Xbox 360. Uncertain as to whether I'll get the HD player for 360 or not.

I remember reading that by the year 2005 or 2007, we would all have to go to HDTV, as the FCC was supposed to require all networks to convert to HD format. I guess that's been delayed or shelved, because I haven't heard any more about it since then.

I know no one who owns what I would consider a true HDTV. They just don't care and the ones that do don't have the money. Hopefully by the time I buy one 32" LCD's will be $500 all day long and 37" LCD's $600-700. Without rebates and crap.

I bet this black friday we will see some 32" LCD's for $300-400.

I have no intention of adopting either HDDVD or Blueray even though I do have a decent HDTV because the drives/players are still absurdly expensive & the IQ isn't enough better to justify it.

The IQ is better enough. I can't go back to regular DVDs anymore. The problem of course is the price tag.

Yep, my eyes suck too much to notice a difference in terms of quality!

Same here. I am still enjoying my Sony GW V KDF-E50A10. I just wish I could get HD Locals, and there were more HD programming on Dish.

I don't have a HDTV. I don't care for sports, and the rest of the stuff I watch on TV usually isn't in HD. TV really sucks. I'm almost to the point of wanting to cancel cable!

Heh I haven't had Cable/Sat for over 6 months. It's not that I can't afford it it's just that I don't think its worth $50 a month. I like very few shows. I don't miss it one bit. Only reason I want a HDTV is because I am wanting something for next gen consoles like the PS3 and 360 once they are at a realistic price(namely the PS3).

I just don't like throwing money out the window. If you love alot of different shows its worth it but its a waste to pay so much for a couple shows.

Most TV is pretty bad these days and there's no way cable or satellite is worth the cost they put on it. Luckily the few TV shows that are worth watching are attainable via other means.
