How many have Panaflo L1A's in their PSU?

How many have put one in theirs? I did my sparkle 300watt. I can tell a huge difference in sound. But am kind of worried it might not be enough CFM's to keep the PSU cool. The one that was in it did blow more air but not a whole lot more. Should I be worried or will it be fine?

I was gonna run the wires out of the PSU case and plug it into the PSU plugs on the outside. But then decided that was to much trouble and just cut the 2 pin connector off the L1A and ran it to the wires that the original fan was connected to. Works great.

I use a 24db Panaflo in my 420w ChannelWell (Antec) & 300w HEC and experience no problems.

I have one in my 400W Antec and removed the "smart fan" feature that drove me nuts; the mod works fine. I also have one in an older 300W Antec and it works fine, too. Case temps stayed the same. I would only do this with high quality power supplies that can theoretically take more heat and handle it with their larger heatsinks and larger vents. Low quality power supplies might not tolerate the extra heat well. And, of course, if you fry yourself working inside your power supply or burn your house down because of the mod, you have only yourself to blame...not me.

Well my Sparkle has been running for a few hours now with UT2003 running on and off a few times. I think it will be fine. Now the loudest thing in my PC is my CPU fan which will change when I get my 1600+ AGOIA in the mail I just hope it will do 166FSB at default speeds because I am putting a Panaflo L1A on my CPU heatsink as well.

Anyone ever had a Panaflo L1A go bad on them? Is it safe to put one on my CPU you all think? I am using a Taisol copper based heatsink which is pretty good sized.

I put a 2 lead Panaflo 80mmx25mm FBA08A12L 21 dba 24 CFM in my L&C A350ATX PSU. First I drilled a zillion holes, 5/16 inch each in the bottom plate of the PSU for additional ventilation. Much much quieter. I also clipped out the airflow-restricting shield at the back of the PSU.

The Antec "smart fan" feature on the model that I have has some type of internal temp monitor (not an external probe). It worked by turning the speed of the fan to "high" once a certain temperature was reached. There are directions and photos of how to do the mod somewhere on the net. Regardless, all you do is cut the wires to the "smart fan" temp detector and bypass it when installed the Panaflo fan.
