I touch type with two fingers at around 70wpm (net) and 75 (actual). Personally, i dont know of a single two finger typist that can match my speed and accuracy. Many of my friends dont believe me when i say i only use two fingers and even people that have witnessed my typing still believe i use all my fingers because my hands whip around my keyboard like crazy creating the illusion that i use all of my digits.

All of them, generally about 80-90wpm but I slow down with an ergonomic keyboard.

10, prob. above 100 gwam.

oh gee, this is fun, let's figure out how many words per minute this post is based on the previous post. I'm sure somebody that is good at math can figure this out.

I mean its not like I jumped over a lazy brown fox or anything. It just an internet post. Have at it anyway, just for fun.

How did you learn to use all your fingers? I sorta learned how to type by myself. Started off hunting and pecking and then one day stopped looking at the keyboard. I continue to get faster by the year.

I also get over 100wpm using all 10 of my fingers. But when I hit an ergonomic keyboard I begin to flyyyyy within a few minutes, those are so nice!!!

I was fortunate enough to actually take two semesters of typing in high school (back when they taught it on these things called typewriters)

To this day one of the best and most applicable classes I've ever had.

I typically only use two fingers off each hand, sometimes i use 3 fingers but thats not typical. I do use space with my index fingers also, and i type 70+wpm when i am really trying to type correct.

Old typera highscore list <-- number 96

I type with nine fingers - my left thumb is never used for anything.
633kpm, dunno how many wpm that is, something in the mid 120s.

Just noticed Otaking is there with a kpm of 652.

I sorta do a shortcut thing when i type. Like I don't exactally keep my hand in the defaul postion like above FDSA and JKL: like I should. I use all of my fingers but unfortunately I don't really use the correct fingers all the time so i tend to have a high error rate when typing....

I use 2 most of the time, but as I type more often i am trying to work more fingers into the mix. But i don't need to be fast so its not a big thing.

You use two fingers plus your thumb? I have no idea how many words a minute I can type, though I do type with my whole hand because of all those typing classes in school. I was always onr og the fastest in my class.

That was exactly my situation and my feeling. I was teach in HS with typewriter and I thought that class and communication class were some of the most practical classes I ever had.

To answer the OP, I use all 10 fingers and I think I type about 70 wpm <normal relax speed and not full speed>.

Do any of you know some websites that do typing test?
