How many feet/second does a standard .22 bullet go at?

Well, Underclocked a shot in the eye from such a pellet gun would do a number.

My .177 BB's traveling at about 550 fps were enough to dent a dime such that there was a small hole in the back of it (BB didn't get all way through, just part of it before bouncing back), so a .22 going faster would not be nice in the face.

So since you want better get a Ruger 10/22 I have a Marlin which is nice but the 10/22 has all those cool customizable parts and you can get some monster banana clips for them too 20-50 rounds
