How many fans on case?

Not at all. No such thing as overkill as far as I'm concerned. 😀
8 x 92mm fans
4 x 120mm fans
1 x 80mm fan
And that's just on the case

plus:
2 x 120mm fans on the PSUs (one on each Seasonic)
2 x 80mm fans on CPUs (one of each)
one on video card
2 on hd cooler

Ooops. Forgot the two 92mm fans on the two SATA enclosures.

Damn. 21 fans total

I think that's it. So yeah, no such thing as overkill. 🙂

Generally speaking I agree with Tas. My Tt Xaser III v2000A has seven fans and I love it. The CM 830 is going to be able to sport nine fans in it supposedly. Looking forward to its release.

Depends on the case size...
For me (Tsunami Dream = Midi Tower)
2x120mm case (front intake and rear exhaust/radiator fan)
2x80mm VGA
2x in PSU

...as long as it's silent there is no overkill 😉

What is the XP-30 in your Sig?

I ll fix that...is an xp- 90 😛

its a chieftec dragon case...it has to intake in front, one intake on side blowing processor and video, one at rear blowing processor too and one on top of that as exhaust...on top of that one is the PSU that is exhaust too...

my case seen here has 2 80mm front intake, 1 92mm side duct intake for CPU as well as a 80mm side intake that blows onto video card, 120mm rear exhaust and 2 fans that i do not know the size of on the power supply. not to mention the fan on the CPU plus the northbridge chipset cooler and the video card cooler. i am not one of those people who want a quiet PC 🙂 helicopterpc for me

Since you didn't link a pic of your case i did a Google and looked at it.

I'm no expert. Air should flow front to rear. But each case and set-up can vary quite a bit.

www.heatsink-guide.com, on the left look at case cooling. Read it. We all want to reinvent the wheel at some point in life 😀 But learning from those that have gone before us is the easy way. Do a Google on case cooling and see what comes up.

I would cut-out any stamped fan grills and put in chrome wire jobs. I am not fond of 80mm fans for case cooling. 92x38 if at all possible. Low flow numbers or on a good controller.

the general rule of thumb is that the cooler you can keep your computer parts, the longer they will last. i have 5 80mm led fans in my case, all <21 dba and together they move a lot of air, my case is extremely quiet and cool
