i have a paging file on my main drive

do i also want paging files on the drives d: e: f: etc ? or is one paging file all i want?

One is probably plenty. Just leave the default settings as-is unless you have some specific reason to be messing with them.

ok, so disable it on C (boot/windows drive) and JUST enable it on E: if that's my fastest drive?

thnx

1. Select a drive(s) for the paging file that does not contain an OS or programs.
2. Out of those drives select the fastest drive to contain the paging file.

If you only have one other drive that makes your life pretty easy.

It depends on your usage patterns. For instance, if you're processing DV data from E: then I really doubt you want the system stuffing random pagefile data on there when memory pressure gets high. The general rule of thumb is that if you don't know for sure, don't mess with it. As long as you've got enough memory it won't matter anyway, there's little point to moving the pagefile if you're not using it.
