how many dives can the Italian soccer team do in a game?

what a bunch of actors, that game against germany was so wrong. the Italians got bumped and would take a dive and roll around on the pitch like they just got a leg cut off. those guys just suck. Players should get a yellow card for doing that crap.

im not a german fan. I was hoping they would win but i wasnt rooting for either team. im actually hoping Portagal will take it all.

They all do that. I don't see what the big deal is. I thought the officials did a good job of not throwing yellow cards in this match.

Italy just played better than Germany. It was a great match. Go Italy!!!

As others have said, every team does it, and the Germans were throwing in their fair share of dives yesterday as well. It's part of the game; Italy just garners more attention for it than some other teams.

QFT, that is by far the most frustrating thing about watching the world cup to me...all the crybabies. EVERY TIME somebody hits the ground, whether it' a slide tackle or they slipped or whatever, they roll around on the ground for 5 minutes or they immediatly sit up and throw their hands in the air waiting for a call. Cry babies, all of them. I wish it was a rougher sport so they could kick each others ass and toughen up again.

While i'm spewting my thoughts on the game, here's another one. Let's throw out the "Off-Sides" rule. This is the lamest rule imaginable. If one team wants to camp out half their players next to the goal, let them do it, who cares? If you're worried about them, throw some defenders back there, if not, you'll have more guys on offense with a higher probability of scoring.

I am sick and tired of seeing possible goals and cool plays being interupted cause one player was one step offsides a split second too soon. It penalizes the faster players and better team players for being better. Throw this lame rule out and I guarantee the games will be more exciting with more goals and more strategy.

Are you basing this on your years of watching and playing top flight soccer?

Offsides is a great rule that gets rid of cherry pickers and forces teams to use skill, speed, timing and strategy to beat a defense.

And why do we need to get rid of the cherry pickers? If you're worried about him, go man to man defense and assign someone to cover him. If not just leave him be and take a strategic chance that you're a man up on the other side and have a better chance at scoring.

If anything the cherry pickers will make for more exciting gameplay with a bigger coverage of the field and more goals, which would help with the lame 0-0 tie games after 90 minutes of gameplay which leads to the even more unfair (in many peoples eyes) penalty shootouts.

More strategy? It'll just turn into long ball. Yeah, two teams trading 80yrd passes sure is more strategic and exciting...

I agree that the dives need to be called more often. Diving is against the rules, but it's called so rarely that the cheaters are able to turn the tide of the game.

Well the strategy would obviously come into play as to whether you want to defend the cherry picker or power play with more players on offense, and the other team would be strategizing on whether they want to keep the cherry picker or get him back into the game.

Don't tell me it doesn't make for strategy, just a different kind of strategy than what the current rules allow; such as the lame strategy of forcing your opponant offsides by running towards the center of the field.
