I have owned 3 Minolta's, 2 olympus, 4 canons, 1 vivitar, 3 hp, 1 sony, and 4 Panasonic and out of them all I find the Panasonic to be the better taking of them all. The thing I liked about the Canon was its ability to take great video, but it lacked on getting focus right when taking shots on the cuff were needed, all the rest followed in that and took some not so detailed shots, or colors were off, to my liking, having to adjust in post, but with the Panasonics with the Lecia lenses, I get maybe 1 out of 100 shot the focus will be off, color is spot on, and the detail is crisp.
I have had the FZ3, FZ20, A smaller model with a 3x optical cant remember the model number, and own the FZ5 now. Last canon I had was the S2IS and hated it with a passion. Never got the focus right, had to constantly re take shot after shot after shot, and if my son did something cute I had to pray the focus was right, which it never was, losing my one in a million shot, and detaill compaired to the FZ3 was softer. Was happy when I traded it off.
