How many desktop wallpapers do you have?

So I decided to upgrade my laptop's main hard drive to an SSD and started cleaning up the c: drive and it occurred to me that i have a lot of desktop wallpapers

that is about 13554 images that I randomly cycle through every 3 minutes on my desktop. does anyone else do anything that crazy? lol

upgrading to a 128 GB SSD btw

I probably have ~10gb spread across a few machines. I don't like autoswitch desktops, but I change them every so often.

Used to have tons, stockpiled from websites like crazy. With modern boradband and such I dont feel the need to keep many on my hard drive any more. I go to wallbase and get a new one once in a while, but only keep the very best.

Ditto prons. No need to hoard that stuff any more.

That is quite an investment in storage for still photographs. If each photo was 5 mb and I changed it once a week it would take me 20 years to go through 5 GB.

Since every photo is potentially a wallpaper I guess tens of thousands. Since I don't cycle them but only change the wall paper every few months I guess a half dozen.

Ignoring default desktop images and pictures I downloaded for simple viewing purposes coincidentally of wallpaper size, zero.

34 images and 10 minutes per image.

The images are pictures of my kids, and nature pics that I took on various boating and camping trips.

I never change the wallpaper. I always keep a green summerish wallpaper with my cat as a background, it's the best photo I have.
I find unpersonal wallpapers boring, I just can't stand them.

I have hoarded 96 of them (~74 mb) from the chans when bored though.
I download only stuff that can be used to make other stuff in photoshop (huge pics of single subjects, skylines etc. are good for that) or photos I really like though, no retarded crap.

889, 1.06 GB. I like a fast 10 sec slideshow.

...why would you put images on your SSD?

I dont have the SSD yet, I was cleaning the drive in anticipation of a copy. but... I might just do a fresh install.

I'll probably get the SSD by the end of the week. i was thinking of just deleting all the pics but i guess i can move the pics to my other internal hard drive (1 TB mechanical) and set it so it doesnt keep updating the desktop background when it's on battery. it's kind of stress relieving to zone out and cycle through some of the pics, sometimes.

it was just an amazing discovery to see that i had THAT much diskspace used for something so trivial.

Don't know. I downloaded a couple of the official Win7 desktop themes which come with slide shows. I also have a Wallpapers folder that I haven't used for years. It holds 16MB.

I might change it every six months to a year. Don't collect very many that way. I do my best to keep the old ones, though sometimes they've gotten lost, and I hardly ever go back.
