I work for a wireless company through a staffing co. No days until I hit a certain number of hours. I'm not there yet. :(

Staffing co. After I work x number of hours I get x number of days off. I won't have enough hours by Christmas to get paid for that day off, etc.

I accrue one day every month for PTO. I don't get any paid vacation. Just PTO. So twelve days a year, every year.

24 days a year? 6 weeks a year? Man, that sounds like a lot of vacation, or does that include personal/sick days too?

Makes my 2 weeks per year seem like nothing. :(

counting holidays, vacation, sick, and personal days, I get 63-64 days off per year... But, I never use the personal or sick time. (I work 182 days per year, but few of those days are only 8 hours long)

12 days paid, but since I work for a small company, I can usually get by with squeezing out a few more if I do a little bit of work at home. After this Wednesday, I'll get to enjoy the rest of the year at home with my wife and newborn son :D

the best part is my 3 months during summer, however i can choose to work during those times if i want to

How bout posting more detailed info? How long you've been working, what country, etc.

Gov't gets 13 days a year till 3 years, then you get 20, then you get 26 after 15 years. Plus 10 holidays. So right now I get 23 days off total.

I also do 9 hour days, so I get every other Friday off. That is really nice.

I don't get any really, I'm 16 and work in a custom screenprinting/embroidery/sporting goods store so I don't expect to :) If I want a day off or something my boss will let me as long as its not too often but none of it is paid..

It would be more interesting if you tell what kind of job you have, who you work for, and how long you been there IMHO.

As a civilian working for the NAVY (Federal Gov. job), the leave benefits are pretty good once you've been there a while.

I think Americans get/take much less vacation time compared to Europeans. I think most Europeans take three to four week vacations in the summer, which is awesome! You need a long vacation to really let your mind relax and enjoy yourself.

Right now I have 264 hours of vacation accumulated (just over 6 weeks), and it carries over... that's in addition to the 200+ hours of sick leave (max of 6 months accumulation allowed). Did I mention I have the week between Christmas and New Year's off, and I'm still paid? :) I love my job... I get off on the 24th and don't go back to work until 1/5/04...
