How many credit hours did you take?

I got this crippling attitude about always maxing out my credit hours since I want to make the most of my tuition (19 is the max here; anything after that they will charge you $200 / credit hour). First quarter I took 19, second I took 18, and now I have 20. I'm not doing too hot grade-wise, 2.9 GPA cumulative. But that's in engineering so it's decent GPA, but not good enough for med school where I'll be competing against people with 3.8s majoring in Bio. And people have been telling me I'm taking too many credit hours, but that's what my engineering curriculum demands (actually, it's 17, 18, and 17). And I'm worried if I take less, med school admission officers might think I'm not taking as demanding a course load as other people. But I don't know what other people are taking.

So I would like to get an idea of how many credit hours everyone else is taking for this year, and please include your major.

Took 18 and 20 units at my one year of community college..will probably take 3 years of 12 unit quarters at UCLA majoring in Math/Econ 🙂

I think the most I ever took was 15. But then I've been working the whole time I've been going to school (computer science)

Im taking 3 right now, and another 3 the second half of the summer. All i need left to graduate 🙂

ive taken 24 in a quarter before it was brutal, all EE and math classes, i did surprisingly well that quarter though and finished with a 3.5 gpa
