I have a debit card for my main bank account which I use, and a debit card for my second account which I also use, but I don't see the point in using a CC when I have a debit account with money in it.
The CC is "just in case".
i dont think you get what a credit card can do for you...
you have to spend money on your debit card to live, right? if you buy everything you would normally buy on the credit card and have it automatically pay the balance every month from your bank account, it is acting exactly like a debit card. the difference is with a credit card you can get rewards. i got 600 dollars at christmas from my credit card points and it is money i had to spend throughout the year anyway.
its also nice because you get to keep your money a whole month longer and earn more interest. it doesnt add up to a lot, but over the course of last year i got 45 dollars in interest from the money sitting in my account an additional month before it was used to pay off my credit card balance.
also, gas cards are an incredibly good idea. it makes NO sense to buy gas without a credit card for that gas station. you HAVE to buy gas no matter what, so why not get a gas card that is FREE and gives you FREE gas after X number of purchases? i just dont understand why people dont do that...i get 15-20 dollars of free gas every few weeks because i have a credit card at shell and exxon, so i only go to those 2 places.
