How many credit cards do you carry?

I have about 5 credit cards, most with small balances.

I only carry one in my wallet though... my MBNA card. My highest credit line, and second lowest APR (9.9% behind Discover which is 7.9%), I use it for all my purchases.

I was thinking --- I travel a lot, and although I've NEVER been declined by this card and I've had it for 4 years, what would happen if I did get declined for a purchase? Sure, I could pay in cash, but I'm wondering if I should carry a second credit card in my wallet.

What does everyone here do?

Natwest MasterCard
Sainsbury Visa

I keep no running balance and mainly use it for online purchases.

None - and glad about it... Though my bank are wanting to 'upgrade' my current card to a credit card, and I'm not too happy about that...:-/

Paid off all my balances and kept one CC and one gas card. It has been such a major relief since I have done so🙂

1 debit card in my wallet.
2 debit cards at home, one for an account with no money, one I don't know the PIN of, and a CC I also leave at home and don't know the PIN of.

4 I think.

1 - United Mileage VISA, my mom gave this to me years and years ago, and I don't even know why I have this still. IT keeps renewing and she still gives it to me, although I've never touched it for many years. It's just a second card from my mom's acct, so I have no reason to use it.
1 - BoA Effectiva Visa. I don't touch this but I heard some places take Visa only, so ditto.
1 - Costco TrueEarnings AMEX, 3% eating out, 2% travel, 1% everything else FTW!. Used for eating out + everything else that the Citi card doesn't touch
1 - Citi Dividend Platinum Select, the best cashback card, but when it comes to eating out, the Amex wins.

1 debit card (BoA checkcard)
