1 🙁....back in VT I had 3 at one point, my main box, my Dell 340 server, and an older P133 I used strictly for folding.

When I moved out here to BC I sold it all, using the comp I built my wife two years ago, an older P4C 2.4 with 512MB of memory, but I brought my X800XT and my harddrives so it's not all bad 🙂

At some point in the future (Christmas maybe?) I'll build a new system, who knows.

3 (my desktop and server, and SO's laptop), with parts enough for another

i have another 2 in my car (my htpc/lan box and laptop)

6

My desktop
Wife's desktop
HTPC
Wife has a laptop
I have two laptops

Going to use one of the laptops to watch streaming videos off the HTPC on the TV in our bedroom. Just need to buy a remote for it.

8 in use.

My production system
My laptop
Kids game/internet system
Kid 1 homework system
Kid 2 homework system
Wife trading sytem
Wife email/internet system
Wife laptop

Plus a couple of older units not in use.

around 7 in the traditional sense of a computer

4 desktops, 1 proliant server, 2 laptops, 1 xbox running gentoox. I have to get rid of most of them soon. Down to one desktop and one laptop (moving sucks)

Way too many. To be fair, stuff like the sgi indy, dec alpha, and apple IIe are more of show pieces than actual computers.

1 - My primary desktop
1 - My laptop
1 - My GF's primary desktop
1 - My GF's laptop
4 - Domain controllers
6 - Servers
1 - Media controller
1 - iDrunk - the laptop for drunks!*
1 - Internet access gateway/ Wifi controller
4 - Desktops in Reserve
2 - Laptops in Reserve

Total: 23

* This laptop was specially built off an iBook clamshell to take a trip to Cancun, Mexico. It was an unexpected test of it's purportedly indestructible construction. The Linux operating system did not survive (thanks to the TSA), though the hardware got battered heavily, it still functions fully. It presently sits, awaiting a fresh install of a new, airport-security-proof operating system.

And if you want to count my show pieces -
IBM PC
IBM PC XT
IBM PC AT
Tandy 1000TL
Tandy 1000RL
TRS-80
CoCo 2
CoCo 3
80GHz in loose CPUs of nearly every type and description.

2.5

-desktop / gaming rig
-DVR

and sometimes my laptop is in the apartment, though I usually just leave it in my car.
