How many computers if your wife/live in partner is into computers too?

Honestly, how many would you need? In my home, only my dad is into computers, so we have 11, and 3 are on the web, the others do his work related stuff.

I have 5 myself, all on the web for fun, some are just workstations atm for friends to use when they come over.

So...my question is, if your wife/live in partner is into computers too, should you make h/im/er use some of yours, or should they have their own as well?

Think about the electricity charge!

You are abnormal. Normal people have only one computer per person and then maybe one server (because they want to tell everyone that they use Linux)

HAHAHA. I'm sure. I use Linux and Sun and BeOS and...wait...I just use linux.

My GF work as a secretery, she use a computer there at office, but at home she rarely sits down and use any of the 3 (out of 8) that she has access to. This leaves me basically with 8 boxes all for myself 😛😀

Hmm...you don't let her have access eh? Is that where you talk to your other online gfs? That would be a problem in my relationship. That is why I give her access to them all, just extremely limited access. After all, every computer nowadays has only 8GB of hdd space, right?

you got me 😉 😀

I live with my mom, dad, sis, and her 2 kids and my bro.. We have 6 up and running at the moment.. Sure keeps me busy becaue I'm the only one who knows anything about them. 😕

6 currently between me & my roommate.

That will go to 8-10 once he's married & we move.

Thank God we now have a dedicated room for my theater, sharing a room with that would be a bitch.

I built my girlfriend her own because she uses the computer a lot. I prefer to have seperate ones just because I'm very finicky in regards to my computer. She can use it if she wants, but she doesn't really need to since she has her own. That way I never have to fear cuddly animal desktops. 😀

You're still living in the 20th century.

Why does one person need more than a couple machines? I guess you could have 1 for everyday and one server or one for HTPC... why would you need 8 just for yourself?:Q

you sound like you have about the right amount

nobody should ever share a computer, that is like sharing a toothbrush! :Q

four people live in my house, we all have our own desktops (i sometimes have two)

i always have at least one gateway/router/firewall to connect the LAN to the internet
then i usually have 1-2 servers to play with
then there may be from 1-4 boxes in process of being built or whatever, they don't really count

We have 3 computers. 1 main one that we share. 1 laptop for portability, which is mostly for my business use. 1 game server that sits in the corner happily running BF1942 all day.

2 desktops (One for me, one for friends who want to come play LAN games)
2 notebooks (One is for travel/working from home, the other is for surfing the net while downstairs)
3 servers ( 2 at my house and 1 on a T1)

😛 hmmmmm..this might just qualify me as a geek! 😉
