how many computer/users can a linksys befw11s4 ver2 support?

I noticed that this router has 4 ports + wireless.. does this mean that 4 computers are able to connect to the ports and X amount from wireless to wireless?

Yes, the befw11s4 will support 4 "hard-wired" NICs and multiple wireless at the same time. The manual says that it will support up to 253 IP addresses, but I doubt that it will function very well with that many clients connected.

I have had a befw11s4 for about 6 months now, and it is not the best wireless router on the market. It suffers from poor range and poor throughput. It is easy to set up, though, and is a nice combitnation of cable/DSL router with a wireless hub.

Okay as far as the hard wire cables go do the 4 ports support 10/100? or is it 11mbps?

Can you guesstimate and tell me how far the range is exactly? Will the wireless work behind closed doors?


Can you name some other routers that I should consider. Thanks
