How many cm long should a snowboard be for a 5'11" male?

I think the rule of thumb is 100cm + 10cm for every feet of the boarder's height, so 151cm or shorter.

I am about 5' 10" ish and I ride a 150 something (I think it might be in the mid 150's) ...I cant remember exactly, but round down if you need to, because a shorter board means better control.

The rule of thumb is based on weight and riding style not height. What's the riders skill level and preferred type of riding (i.e. freestyle, free-riding, carving)?

For instance, I'm 180lbs. I'd use a 161 for free-riding and a 154 or so for freestyle riding.

For a beginner @ 175lbs, I'd say rent a board in the 150-154 range. But it also depends on the board.

I'm 6'5" and I own a 162cm board.

There is no hard rule. Shorter board...easier to manuver/learn. Long board...faster/more stable.

I concur.

Nothing shorter than 130cm, and probably not longer than 165cm and he should be fine.

Are you buying or renting? If you're buying, I highly recommend Never Summer boards. They are NICE.
