Discover's policy is to increase your credit line automatically, under good standing, each year after you've signed up. They don't look at your credit rating when giving this upgrade, it's based on your buying/paying back pattern.
I have a debit card that acts as a Visa card too. I always keep track of my back account online too, and I don't keep much in the account. Seems to be working just fine for me so far.

maybe when you want to buy a acr or a house you have some credit history built up. lol
amex platinum is anice card but it costs 300 a year, but you get your airline tix automatically upgraded to business class ! awsome!
Hehe.. yup. I have to agree there! (Yeah, a lot of "prestige" in proclaiming to the world that you're $13,000 in debt on each of your Visa Platinum/Titanium (tm) cards...)
