I have three. None are especially prestigious. I have an Amex Blue card. Apparently I could get any credit card I want, as I've been pre-approved for every single one of them, and they send me crap every week in the mail. I already have too many, though.

I only have two (Visa, Mastercard).
One from an American bank and one from a German bank.

I don't own a particular cc just for snob appeal.

My one and only favorite is the CitiBank Dividend, no annual fee, low APR, great online account access and 1% cash back.

Visa, Discover, which I use whenever possible and wherever accepts it because it gives me 0.5% cash back), and Platinum AT&T Universal Mastercard.

7 at the moment... soon to be 5 though:

Amex Blue - Best Value Guarantee, extra 1-yr warranty, 10.9% APR I think
Amex Corporate - For work
First USA Platinum Ecard - 31K limit @ 9.9% APR
Chase Platinum - 10K limit @ 6.65% APR
Juniper Platinum - 12.5K limit with 2% cash back

Going to cancel:
Discover - Juniper cash back is better
Amex Gold Delta sky miles - Amex is about to charge me an annual fee so they can go fck themselves

Favorite: Amex Blue and Juniper

Two of them, the second only because Mastercard wasn't accepted at the local chinese take out but Visa was! The Mastercard's a Platinum Universal (AT&T) but I think I've put $20 on that within the past year. We'll see how long they realize that. :)

Royal Bank visa classic - canadian card- around a 12% interest rate which I pay $75 can/year to keep that low (vs 19% interest)
MBNA mastercard (subaru) - american card, APR at 12.9%, no annual fee

Discover- 1K limit, 1% CashBack, Discover Deskshop (extremely handy), No Annual Fee

Associates Visa- recently increased to $1250, No Annual Fee, nothing else special about the card

Ive got both because Discover has a lot of benefits but is not as widely accepted as Visa is.

BTW, if you ask your CC company for a credit increase and they deny it, does it lower your credit rating? Discover hasnt given me an increase since I got the card last April, and Ive always paid in full, in time every month. Visa, however, has given me 2 increases within the past 9 months, from $800 when I got it, to $1250 now.

My most prestigious is an American Express Gold Coporate card, with an unlimited credit line.
