How many case fans in an Antec SX830???

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how many case fans are supposed to find room in an Antec SX830 Case. People say five then they say 4. What gives? I know there is 4 total but where does the 5th one fit? Is there a spot in front of the HDD's or is that just for the SX1030. I'd rather not mod thise one.. Too expensive.

Thanks

Yes, there are 5 fans. I just picked up this case and it's great.

2 fans in the front (optional, i.e. You buy 'em)
2 fans in the back (comes with the case)
1 fan that blows across the HD's (optional alos - it's about halfway up the case, in the front)

The case that I have (and I assume that they all will) have purple snap fit attachments for the fans. All the fans are 80mm. It comes with 2 and I bought 2 others.

Lawman is right about the number of fans. However some people like me and my roommate bought the Antec SX-830, and it did not come with the harddrive fan bracket holder. I had to ask antec for a replacement. Mine friend also has the same case and his did come with the HD Fan holder. Some have it and some don't. Just got to be lucky i guess.

Why not go to the source, Antec?

Performance Series

According to them, it has four fanholders and 2 rear fans included.

Doesn't mean you can't squeeze another fan in with the harddrives, it just takes a slightly different fanholder, like the odd one that comes in the lower drivecage of the 1030. The other 3 that come with the 1030 are identical to those in the 830. Check the pics, the 1030 has an extra 3-drivecage with fanholder.

Had to repost, accidentally referred to "drivecage" as "driv(X)bay" Sheesh!
