How many Bush haters/lovers?

I kind of new to this forum, forums in general and I was wondering how many people there would be on this forum and how many would be considered on either side of the Bush lover/hater argument?

I'm a progressive conservative, therefore am not the biggest fan of bush.
I find it far easier and logical to argue against his policy than for it.
But i have no "hatred" for the man, i actually hear he is very personable.
I judge him on a per issue basis, as most should.

PS. if you are new to any forum, you should read it for a while before posting.
If you had read the forum, you would have a better understanding of the proposed question.

I think you will be hard pressed to find a Bush lover, many republicans can agree that he is not the best candidate with questionable policies, but when given the choice, nothing appealed to them more than the status quo. Those who are actually educated on political topics will not 100% support bush...

Thanks. That all helps. I have been reading these for a while and I see the comments are very polarized one way or the other. I am having trouble with who is who and where they stand.

Many of the discussions about Bush always bring Clinton into the debate and that confusses me a little because I find it really hard to compare the times of the two.

Now, though, I understand a little better with each comment.

You do realize there are shades of grey...the problem with these discussions is that they often focus on how posters feel in particular about Bush as a person rather then a President.

I agree with some of Bush's policies...I disagree with most...that doesn't necessarily make me a Bush hater or a lover.

Discuss the policies, not the person.

Don't have anything personally against the man. I think his policies are taking this country in the wrong direction, both fiscally and socially although he may not be personally responsibe for all of them.

I used to believe in republican ideas, but over the years and as I get older and mellower, I have realized I tend to look at issues from the democrats point oi view.

I think anyone who likes Bush's way of doing things is either ignorant or retarded. It really is as simple as that.

By the way, you can't separate the act from the actor. You can't like Bush and dislike his way of doing things at the same time.

Another amazingly in-depth post from ntdz.

Anyone that takes a critical look at this administration can only come to the conclusion that it's a miserable failure.

Don't care one way or another about him as a person. But as for his policies and the way he runs the country, I can say I'm less than impressed.

Those who bring up the "but Clinton"argument, usually do it because they are unable to defend a policy or decisions Bush has made and want to avoid the issue by pointing out how much worse Clinton was. Quite pathetic to be honest.

As for me being a Bush hater or lover. I'm neither really. I'm just as likely to point out the failings of a liberal or a democrat if I feel the need to.

Bush is the modern day Abraham Lincoln. A man out to save the Union, over a polarized public. Only time will let the liberals realize how bad of a mistake they are making.

GO BUSH!!!

Sad!

No, I am just being bluntly realistic about my feelings towards him. He's extremely stupid and I have no respect for the man at all. He's done enough harm to this country and for one to say he hasn't is pure ignorance.

These are the attitudes that allowed Bush to win his bid for re-election...by dismissing Bush supporters as idiots, or dismissing Bush Administrationas a failure, the Democrats failed to understand why Bush resonated with 51% of the country.

And saying 51% of the country is stupid does not qualify as a reasonable response.

While I'm inclined to agree with you that dismissing Bush or calling Bush supporters idiots is not a good way to win them over. One should be able to see with their own eyes how he's caused the country to become divided because of his actions.

I was trying to remember all the things that people might be upset about with the current administration. Arctic Drilling, of course Iraq, the desire to change the social security situation... any others.

To me it seems that time will tell whether or not he will be remembered or go the way of presidents like Coolidge or Harding. So far there has been a lot of hot air come out of Washington, on both sides of the aisle, about a lot of things but nothing has happened, excepting of course Irag and Afganistan. And considering all that was occuring in 2001 and 2002 I don't disagree with the course of action that we took.

As a person, I kind of like him. He seems like he would be a fun person to hang around with. On the policy side, I don't like the idea that he has said that he will sign the funding bill that has the attachment for the nationalized ID.

Do you think that it is Bush that has divided the country or the two parties together that have caused this rift, which by the way is nothing new? The rhetoric that comes out of Washington on both sides has been going on since the beginning. King Washington, King Jefferson, Harding destroyer of a country.
