how many bootable partitions can you have? I want win2k, win98, can i add a dos partition?

you can have 5 primary and loads of secondary but one of the primaries is reserved for the extended partition. also windows and alot of os's don't like being past the 4gb barrier. To get past this install win98se first then win2k as win 2k puts boot files in the c or win 98 drive. if you want to put linux on put a /boot partition in the first 4gb of the drive.

You can have up to 4 primary including an extended partition.
But just only create one primary partition and 1 extended partition. Then as many logical partitions as you want within the extended partition.

Yes you can triple boot with all 3 of those OS's.
