LOTR is a techno geek orgyfest of midgets and wizards and sh!t.
techno geek orgyfest? My grandfather introduced me to LOTR and he can't click a mouse.
The Academy normally gives out out awards to movies that actually are more realistic or more "human"
LOTR is pure "human"...it's about the essence of humanity, and classic good vs. evil. Just because it's set in a more mythical world/time doesn't demean its message and themes.

But re: the oscars...when I think of all my fav movies, I realize the academy doesn't recognize any of them...so who gives a crap what a bunch of old retired film snobs think anyway?

Great, now howeys after me again😉

Momma always says there's an awful lot you could tell about a person by their spelling.

You shouldn't. The Oscars are held by Academy members who want to honor the people in their industry. People get so angry over them and I just don't understand it. They like to b!tch and moan about them, but I can't figure out why. 🙂

The only reason they continue to be televised is because millions of people around the world sit down to watch them. I'm a big fan of movies and filmmaking and I enjoy watching the Oscars because I like to see people get recognized for their art. I don't really care if I don't agree with all of the choices.
