Some good old games
AD&D of course,
Generic Universal Roleplaying (GURPs)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the RPG (would make an awesome idea for a PC RPG)

Err... AD&D old? Well... I guess I am getting old then.

I started with PnP games such as Dungeons and Dragons (1974)... in fact I played the game that actually spawned D&D; Chainmail (1971). I also played Traveller (1977) which was published by Game Designers Workshop and the original Warhammer (1983) published by Citadel Minatures (part of Games Workshop). One of my favorites was HarnMaster.

In my humble opinion no computer game has EVER matched a good PnP session with real people, because computers can not react as well as a good DM.

I thought you was a swabee!

I knew he was a swabee.

I thought Navy guys were called squids? Or is that just the guys on the subs? :D

no... "started with and still occasionally blow the dust off my d20 and start rolling" option?

usually jump into a campaign every time I go home... nothing beats good old D&D.

Played it a bit when I used to live out in a very rural area, where the houses were all about 10 miles apart. This was pre-internet of course and nobody really had decent cable out there, so there was not much else to do.

So yeah, that is what we did when were not out drinking and tipping cows and whatnot.

In the early 80s I played weekly with some highschool chums. We'd drink some kegs and play. Good times. Bar-room type brawls ensued when major HP killed someones wizard and stuff like that. Good old days. We were the coolest D&Ders out there.

Yeah, we had that happen too ocassionally. The drinking and roleplay would get out of hand at times and next thing you know...real time fights! Fun times for sure.

Heck you could still do that.
Just go to SuicideGirls.com and look at their profiles.

I bet some of those gals are into it, or could be curious about it.

I knew he was a swabee.

Yep, sure was. 8 years, honorably discharged as IC1(SW) (e-6 for non-Navy types).
