Probably not a lot up to this point. Going forward the story might be different. However, we are too focused on just deaths as the illness has serious lasting harm to many people after they 'get better'. This really is a disaster far far worse than people realize.

It’s astounding watching some of my elderly in laws vote year after year for the ghouls killing their small, rural, very Republican town. But, apparently, the tears of others are more satisfying than having a post office that can promptly and affordably deliver checks, bills, medicine, packages, ballots... whatever you need. Trump decimated rural areas with his trade war, resulting in the need for huge farm subsidies to keep people from starving. But...They’re too invested in the alternate reality. So they turn a blind eye.

If every state was red, this administration still wouldn’t have had an effective national response to this pandemic. It would have amounted to Kushner saying, “The national plan is...for anyone who is sick to go to their local ER. Great! Let’s get that Tweeted out. That’s a wrap everyone!, See you tomorrow.

What we ended up with was incompetence and maliciousness. Which is possibly marginally worse than just the incompetence.
