Trump loves superspreader events.

Yup before inauguration day, we'll begin to see cases. But didn't think about the end if the article with the Congress members being huddled together. But most responsible members should already got first vaccination. And good way to get rid of the new Repugnacan members since I doubt they took the vaccine.

Edit - have there been estimated how large the crowds were on Wednesday?

Funny that I voted for 100K, and here we are, my own country hit 200K (with more than 35k know deaths "officially" omitted).

Yeah... I just checked stats again, 7 day average is now at 3,300 daily deaths. 9/11 every day and half the country still thinks it's a hoax. Or to put it another way with 365 days a year we're on track for more than 1 million dead a year. Right now it's a race between vaccination and unfettered virus raging through communities of people too ignorant to take proper precautions. Even with vaccines administered there is a very real chance we'll hit 1 million dead before it's over because we're nearly 400,000 there and because I expect close to 40% will reject vaccine.

I think those that said a million might be right once Covid fades mostly out and we count all the excess deaths from Jan 2020-end of pandemic. With excess deaths we are already over 500k.
when i saw the numbers, my mind immediately turned to this...we really could break a million deaths. jesus christ :( :(

CDC is predicting nearly 100,000 additional deaths in the next 3 weeks:
Walgreen's statement in that article is kind of a lie from the info I've heard, from what I know they're asking full time pharmacists to work the vaccine clinics in addition to their job, have not heard they're hiring and training new people like he claims in that article. May be different in different areas but that's what is happening around here from what I know.

Also, there are documented allergic reactions to all marketed vaccines. It's not unheard of to see some small subset of people have an allergic reaction. It is a severe disservice to medical communication to overly report these isolated incidents without also highlighting the dangers of actually contracting COVID-19 or the rarity of these incidents in the first place.

Plus, if one of these very rare cases of an allergic reaction arises, they can be easily dealt with using diphenhydramine (Benadryl) or epinephrine (eg, EpiPen).
Ah, here is a beautiful example of subtext.

Not from you, but from our media. They hype up the reactions as if it isn't normal. Then Alt-Right runs wild with "see, the vaccine is killing people!". It isn't that the media directly told people not to take it, but they delivered the information needed to get people to avoid taking it. Classic example of an Arson not wanting to be responsible for what their fire damaged or destroyed.

Of course - was probably Trump's order for the announcement in an attempt to gain credit for someone else's idea. It didn't matter if the announcement didn't fit reality.
It will be refreshing to know that regular lying will not be an essential element of the new administration. I mean this absolutely seriously. They lie about virtually everything even when there is no requirement to.
