That's just crazy talk. We're talking about stupid people here, they have to be put in their place, they have to know who their betters are. Once they understand the depths of their ignorance, they'll vote progressive. Count on it.

Good plan. Can’t wait to see you roll it out nationally.

That one went just a bit over your head.

Of course. You’re too clever for me.

one is a misleading website made to look official, is operated by a trump campaign member (even if it isn't funded by the campaign itself), and is tacitly endorsed by a trump.campaign official.

The other is clearly unofficial, does not have a misleading domain name, does not appear in any way to be a campaign website, is not operated by a member of a political campign, and was not endorsed by Santorum's opponents.

Similar ideas? Yes. Completely different executions. I hope you visited both sites to see the difference. I did. Night and day.

Trump can't win re-election on the strength of his base alone. They are, unfortunately, completely unreachable, their minds poisoned by decades of amazingly effective right wing propaganda & outright lies. That's not all the people who voted for him. Otherwise rational people took a chance on Trump & it hasn't worked out the way they wanted. Not at all. I'm sure a lot of them are coming to terms with the idea that they made a huge mistake. Huge.

I'm just trying to let you know that kicking people in the teeth is guaranteed to win zero of them over to your way of thinking. If your hate compels you to keep kicking rather than maybe win a few converts and votes, so be it.

Remember, all you have is words to try and win votes. You have no stick or carrot. And the words you choose are full of vile insults rather than showing the opposition why it's in their best interest to vote out the current administration.

"STOP FUCKIN' YER SISTER AND VOTE DEM" ain't gonna work. Shit, you almost make me want to vote FOR Trump. Happy now? Ah, whom I kidding...Dems don't need my vote...you guys have this next election in the bag, right? Right?
No no guys, really, keep drinking that poison. It makes me feel really bad to watch you rotting from the inside out.

They said he couldn't be elected at all. Everyone knew Trump didn't have a chance. Everyone was absolutely convinced Hillary had it in the bag. Everyone was wrong.
The same smug superiority that pervaded an entire election cycle is back. Do you really want the electorate to tell you to fuck off again? Maybe it will take four more years of Trump for the liberals to learn a little humility. The "eat shit and die" attitude hasn't served you very well so far, and I doubt it will in the future.

It has worked rather wonderfully for Trump. Democrats just aren't experienced enough in shady, underhanded tactics to reach the depths he will go to.

Not really a direct analogy. It's crude, sure, but it's not the same kind of misrepresentation at all. And Dan Savage doesn't seem to be close to mainstream Democrats - from what I've seen of him he's always been one to 'fight dirty', closer to that 'hard left' than the mainstream Dems.

Also, again, I would say the 'misrepresentation' in the sites being discussed isn't, for me, that they pretend to be associated with the candidates themselves so much as that they pretend to be satire coming from the left, when they are actually attacks from the right.

The Harris one at least is quite obviously satirical and not her self-representation. But it also clearly doesn't represent the real author's beliefs either, so in that respect it's dishonest and a form of false-flaggery.

Even those Repubs running against him in their primaries weren't able to let themselves get as bombastic and unabashedly dishonest as Trump was in their runup to the '16 general and that's saying a whole lot when considering those other corporate owned sleazeballs that were in the running alongside Trump.

Trump has been setting new lows as to what we should expect out of our presidents. That the Repub Party has embraced Trump and his spectacularly nonsensical childishly boorish behavior will haunt that party for some time to come.

How they will ever live Trump's humiliating criminally tinged performance down is beyond my comprehension.

That's the multiple straw man attack, right?

So, you're going with the innuendo of criminal conspiracy theory? There's no indication that finding Mauldin's identity was criminal at all.

It's also amazing that you can both sides it, compare the massive TrumpGOP/Russian effort of 2016 with a tiny effort in Alabama. It's obviously a winning set of tactics so Dems will try to play catch up. To what extent remains to be seen but it's obvious that the GOP will be back with a vengeance. Macedonian teens will be raking it in, too, playing American conservatives for the suckers that they are.

The "TrumpGOP/Russian effort of 2016" was a fake nothingburger unlike what happened in the Alabama election. Very convenient how the "Russians" played a part in multiple elections and it seems to be manufactured by the Dems.

And the Mueller Report a fake nothingburger too, no doubt

Trumpism is a cult of personality. Rational thought is blasphemy.

The cult leader, unlike a traditional politician, makes no effort to reach out to his opponents. The cult leader seeks to widen the divisions. The leader brands those outside the cult as irredeemable. The leader seeks the omnipotence to crush those who do not kneel in adoration. The followers, yearning to be protected and empowered by the cult leader, seek to give the cult leader omnipotence. Democratic norms, an impediment to the leader’s omnipotence, are attacked and abolished. Those in the cult seek to be surrounded by the cult leader’s magical aura. Reality is sacrificed for fantasy. Those who challenge the fantasy are not considered human. They are Satanic.
