How low can you go?

I got an E7200 for my new work machine the other day with ideas about running it fanless - I am now priming at stock speed (2533MHz) with the voltage set to 1.10v in the BIOS, reading 1.072 in CPU-Z or 1.056 under load. Temps are hovering around 46-48C measured with realtemp after about half an hour and there is NO FAN on the heatsink :)

I admit the case itself is well cooled with 2*120mm low speed fans, but even so, I never thought I would be running a high performance CPU with this little heat and noise... my Q6600@3.6 is pretty loud...

So - how low have you been? How low do you think I can go? Or should I stop here and see if I can get 3GHz at this voltage?

With my E7200, I immediately went to 3.16Ghz @ default voltage (1.075v) on a cheap ECS GF7050VT-M motherboard (BSEL set to 1333Mhz)

I would like to undervolt the slower-speed speedstep states with a software utility like RMClock or CrystalCPUID, but they both report the lowest voltage I can go is 1.0625v, which isn't far from the default 1.075v. With my AMD X2, the default was 1.3v and I could take it down as low as 0.8v.

I thought default voltage was 1.2? It was for me.

Just tried 3.16 and 3.0 at 1.10/1.072/1.053 and no boot...
