Yes, loud enough to be annoying. I have a Zalman + panaflo system. There's not a cooling device in my system that isn't one of those (power supply included) and even my panaflo L1As are kept on the bottom speed of a Vantec Rheobus.
It's not extremely loud, but it lets out this kinda high-pitched "WHHOOOOOOOOO" that is pretty annoying. Most small, high output fans do this. I'm going with a Zalman on mine.
Agreed. It's not that loud, but was the loudest whine in my case.
I replaced it with the Acrtic Cooling VGA Cooler as I was lucky enough to order one at SVC.com before they went out of stock. (They are the only US distributor and have been out of stock since 11/4.)
Yup B, I just R&R'd a 9800pro faned for a Sapphire 9800pro non-faned from newegg ($333) because of the noise. I hate noise when I'm trying to write papers and such so I have a near silent PC AND I have a desktop machine! Sapphire 9800 pro
