How loud is the CoolerMaster IHC H71?

I heard that the CoolerMaster IHC H71 is the best Intel Pentium 4 air cooler there is, top rank performance but also the loudest. I was wondering if 56dBA is bearable and that I can sleep with the computer turned on at night. (My Computer is located right next to my bed) Also, I was wondering if a Socket 478 adapter (an adapter that lets you use Socket A/462 coolers on the Pentium 4) would be of use since I have a ThermalTake SLK 800 with a Sunon 50 CFM fan. Any ideas will be appreciated.

I read the review on overclockers.com and they say: Top rank P4 cooling, although noisy. I assume, you do not want to sleep close to a fan producing 61db.

However I like the HS, because it does not require to remove the mobo for installation, instead it re-uses the Intel rentention kit.

You can either buy the IHC H71 (which they call "Everest") or the IHC L71 (which they call "Fujiyama"), the latter one comes with a 2500rpm silent fan, but does not offer a much better cooling than the Intel standard HSF.

I have ordered the Fujiyama (I think it makes no difference, the HS is the same as the Everest) and will replace the silent fan with one of the new YS-Tech 70mm fans: YS-TECH PD 1270153B-2F - TMD, which are availabe in three different speeds 3200, 4500, 5800rmp. They have a new design, where the the motor of the fan is no longer in the middle, YS-Tech claims a 30% airflow advantage over the standard designs. I will take the 4500rpm fan, hopefully that is the best compromise between cooling and noise.

Cheers
