how loud is stock X2 HSF?

Damn this thing is loud. Louder than my 120mm fan running at 72cfm!
I can hear it in the other room. (4200 model with heatpipes)
I would stick with it, it cools really well (32c idle) but this noise is killing me. Anyone know how many decibels this thing runs at? Would an xp90+ panaflo L1a or medium be quieter?

No idea about the noise levels, but I replaced my X2 3800+ hsf (also noisy) with xp90 + medium panaflo and the noisiest thing in my case now is the rear 120mm on "fan-only"

XP90+Panaflo would be WAY quieter, and would do a reasonably better cooling job. But I hear the X2 stock fans are pretty damn good considering they're stock. Have you tried using your motherboard's fan monitor?

stock amd fans are like 45dba, panaflos are 30dba.

I would try SpeedFan first, if that doesn?t work I would recommend the Thermalright XP-90 with Panaflo L1A.
