Started watching it and after 2 or three seasons it just became impossible to follow and keep everything straight.

You're missing out on the best three seasons of TV (first three), and a pretty solid second half of the series.

70% of my enjoyment of the show also involved being part of the Lost "community" (posting on blogs, talking about theories, etc).

not sure I could ever watch the show from scratch without that aspect and still enjoy it as much.

It should have either kept to 13 episode seasons or stopped after season 3.

There's no way in hell that I'll waste 130+ hours on a tv show.
