How long would it take

For the earth to return to a pristine state if every human died tommorrow. Just out of curosity.

If by "pristine" you mean no trace of man then it never will. We've created materials that will survive until the sun goes nova, a black hole swallows us up or Rosie Odonnel goes straight.

Covered up in a couple thousand years, but disappear never. As people have stated we have created non-biodegradable substances and radioactivr substances that will remain indefinitely.

Eh, radioactive substances all decay over time. I'm talking plastics and styrofoam type stuff.

I thinking everybody dies by the super flu or something. There will be traces left behind, but I looking at the removal of most man made structures and other things that would make it obvious that we were here.
Basicly no dams, buildings, roads, etc

Yeah, but some radioactive substances take a LONG time and plastics/styrofoam i mentioned as non-biodegradable. 😀

If they ever build that long term radioactive storage facility out in the desert, it might take millions of years.
