how long will this system last?

i have this pc spec:

asus a8n-sli pre.
x2 4600 dual core
2 GB of G.Skill ram
7900 gto



please tell me how long this spec will be outdated.

Until you get a Core 2 Duo rig. 😉

Seriously, that's a nice system and should last you until the programs you like to run don't run fast enough. This has always been the spec that drives my upgrades.

Dual-Core K8 processor will last you a long time. So will the 7900GTO (essentially a GTX with slower memory clocks. Bring it to 7900GTX specs and you have arguably one of the 3 best performance cards in the market).

What applications do you use? What games do you play? At what resolution?

Do you demand to run all your games at maximum res, maximum quality or are you fine with dropping a few sliders to medium and stuff?

For Two years, you will still have a mid-high gaming & content creation system. Relax.

that rig will last so long as operation is smooth.U moght wanna change the gfx card when DX10 becomes an issue.
