How long will this pc last?

Hi, I am wondering if I should buy this comp and how long it should last for playing games? I know the GPU is crappy but I plan on upgrading it eventually. The computer is the HP A1250N, here are the specs:

Processor Type: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Dual Core
Processor Speed: 2.0GHz
RAM: 1GB PC3200 DDR SDRAM Expandable to 2GB
Hard Drive: 250GB (7200RPM) Serial ATA Hard Drive
Optical Drives: 16X DVD+/-RW With Lightscribe & DVD-ROM
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon Express 200 Graphics
Cache: 2 x 512KB L2
System Bus: 2000MHz

Well, with that graphics card, it will struggle with most newer games and even some last generation games.

Upgrade the card, and you should be good for two years.

wtf is wrong with you, he should be good for 4 years. assuming the GPU doesnt suck that he gets, and possibly upgrading to 2gb ram sometime

Way to jump down his throat.

If he gets a 6800GT, it will last him 2 years. A 7800GT 3 and 2 GB ram 3.
 
I would definately get a better graphics card; that thing will probably have difficulty with current games even at 640x480. I'd spend a bit less on the proccesor (A64 3200) and get a x800gto2.
 
Yeah I know the GPU sucks so I would get a better one in a couple months time (damn college tuition). So would this rig last for approx 3-4 years?
