how long will roses last inside of a hot car?

if i buy them in the morning (7:00am) will they be ok in the afternoon? (3:00?) assuming the sun will be out

I would imagine they would suffer pretty bad even if they had a good water source.

yea keep them in the water packets they give you or even without them its fine
only thing will be they won't last as long after (im assuming) she gets them

If you do that, I would recommend checking the cooler to see if the a good deal of the ice has melted and emptying the water out.
You wouldn't want the water to spill all over your trunk after a sharp turn or something.

Not to mention if all the ice melted and your roses started swimming in the water...
I'd love to see you try and give your gf soaked flowers.
She'd probably think you bought her a freshly cut and washed salad.

yeah a cooler is best, direct sun in the car will shrivel them up in minutes.

The flower guys on the side of the road here in S. Florida use coolers...they have decent flowers most of the time.
