How long do you think our supply of gasoline will last? I know gas prices are rising, but i wanna be driving a gasoline engine car in the next 5-10 years. What do you guys think?

Probably forever. The earth is making more and more crude oil every single day. Organic life just doesn't disappear from the planet ya know.

Right, I saw a dead rabbit on the side of the road this morning on my commute. I'm going to scoop it up and stuff it in my gas tank on the way home tonight.

Won't there always be some organic lifeform that is just coming up on 1 million+ years old though?

Let's suppose the oil we are using now is from organic life from 1 million years ago. Won't the oil we use in 100 years be from organic life from 1 million + 100 years ago?

This is a gross oversimplification, but do you see my point? Won't there always be some organic life that is nearing the "age" necessary to yield oil?
