If you do not play games at a crazy high res, then it would be anybodies guess. I have a 9700PRO with an XP3200+ that pays all of the current games at 10x7. I do not use alot of eye candy. I bought that card in Sept. 2002, and its still going strong.

Well since a 6600GT can play any game out at maxmimum settings quite smoothly, then it should last at least two years. Unreal Engine 3 is the only engine that is due out that could push the 6600GT to it's limits. Unless someone comes out with some freak new game engine, you will be fine playing games based off the D3, Source, and Cry engines.

It depends on what kind of settings you want to use. IF you're find with low - > medium settings, you'll be good for another year or two.
But if you like ultra settings with all the goodies turned up, it doesn't even stand a chance with current games.

see i wanna save money on the graphics card and put the money i save into a 3800+ 64 processor then when the card gets out dated in a year or a year in a half get one of the new generation cards that will be out becuase it will be easier to upgrade a graphics card then a cpu !
