How long to you wear your contacts?

I have Acuvue 2 contacts and they are only supposed to last 2 weeks. They feel fine after 2 weeks so I generally wear them until they get uncomfortable. Usually after 5-6 weeks, sometimes longer. Just wondering how long people wear their contacts.
 
I'm using Bauch & Lomb SoftLens 66 Torics (disposables). The longest I've used a single pair is like 6 months (was too lazy to get a new prescription filled). I clean them daily, and never sleep with them in - if I get any irritation, I just replace em.
 
Anyone had any problems with wearing the disposables longer than recommended? I have a feeling they last much longer than they say they do. They just want people to buy them regularly.
 
Near the end of thier life, my contacts start to fog up after about 8-10 hours of wear.

I'd say I have averaged about 6-8 months per pair.
 
i wore a pair for a week or more straight removing em just once...and slept with em too...result == not good. Needed to take a good deal of med to treat what happened afterwards. Remember guys...as obvious as it sounds, eyes == very very precious. dont go lazy on em.

i kept mine in for months once, never taking them out to clean or sleep

everything was fine till a got a bad headache, so I just took them off for a few hours and they were ok again
 
i wear the acuvue 2 as well, and i usually wear them until they arent comfortable anymore. no idea how long tho
 
Be Good to your eyes especially with contact lens wear!!!!

I used to abuse my contact lenses as well. I would sleep in them, not clean them, wear them for way over what's the manufacturer's suggested time, and I ended up getting an eye disease called GIANT PAPILLARY CONJUNCTIVITIS (GPC). Trust me, you do not want this disease. It can hinder your ability to wear contact lenses forever!!! Do a search on GPC.

It's a nasty condition that I had to treat with steroids, and now I am using daily disposable contacts so that I don't fvck up my eyes and eyelids in the future.

btw Im an optometry student now.
 
christ, i wear mine (acuvue 2) 6+ months and don't even notice a difference when in put a new pair in. taking them out at night of course
