How long should this CPU last?

At that voltage, I wouldn't think it would last very long. Also, are you using LLC (load line calibration) in your BIOS?

Yes vdroop is on if that's what you mean. This is a DFI board.

The electric this would use to kill it would probably cost as much as a TRUE for a cherry Q6600 I have that does 3.6 at 1.2V.

Hmm not sure if the vdroop setting is analogous to LLC but it might be. If it is, that might explain the unexpected behavior of your vcore at load.

That chip is not long for this world. Nice Q6600 though.

That CPU is about to die. Take it easy. Anyone who goes over the 1.4V mark is pretty much cheating themselves and do not have a stable overclock.

If you like it there, keep it there. I'll laugh when it dies. I'll laugh real good.

1.760 what cooling is it under?

Im guessing LN2 DICE or Uber high class Phase.

Why? because the poster would of hit thermal shut down long b4 he got into cpu-z unless he was in sub ambient or below 0 temps.

No it can make it into Windows without shutting down. For longer runs though it's cooled with a mixture of dry ice and acetone. That keeps it real cool but the surrounding MOSFETS are scorching hot and seem like they will pop like a deer tick! :Q

Normally it's doing 4GHz with 1.3 volts with a push pull TRUE. High 60's with LINPACK! 4GHz is the max it will do before the voltage has to be ratcheted way up there. I would defintely NOT recommend anyone doing this with a chip they NEED nor for long. It's fun just for a "suicide run" of Vantage, etc.

BWAHAHAHAHA... i love how everone flamed you without knowing you had DICE.

DICE systems arent normal... DICE = Dry Ice.

Nice suicide run tho, got any scores?

I understand this is a suicide run for the fun of it and I respect that, but I gotta say that I'm pretty underwhelmed by that clockrate given the dry ice and 1.7+ volts. Talk about diminishing returns.

How cool does it go with DICE cooling, under load?

ohhhhhh this is a good question.

lets take a guess...

dice is about -78C (ignore the acetone, its so you get more sufrace area cooling in the pot) so under load im guessing -20-30ish.. ??

Nope, I called it from the beginning:

Yep, it was a thread created purposefully without certain info only to stir the pot, I called it.
