How long should my computer take to complete a WU?

My system is made of these components:

AMD Athlon XP 2400+ @ 2.0GHz
512 MB PC2100 DDR
133MHz FSB

My average time per WU is about 3 hours even.

Is that slow or what?

Is that when you dedicate the computer just for SETI?

I have CLI client and priority is set to idle.

I can ditto that. I have pretty much the same setup as RaySun2Be. Mine average from 3:20 to 3:30 per WU. You will see some go through in less time 😀 and then you can hit one that takes 4 Hr.................. 🙁 But your numbers sound right.

😀

A friends Athlon 2400 is taking about 3hrs also, but that's with very tight ram-timings.
My 64bit Athlon @ 2.2Ghz is pumping them out in an average of 2hrs..

my 2500+ @ 2.088Ghz (same timings as the 2800+) is churning them out average 2.59hrs. (not 2hrs 59 min, it's just over 2hrs30min)
Kingston value ram 512mb pc2700 on a kt400 msi board. it is a barton so the extra cache may play a factor.

Nope ,seems about right🙂 ,its your FSB/RAM speed that's holding you back ,& possibly your chipset latencies too (depending what chipset it is)

My XP1700 @2.04GHz ,177MHz FSB/RAM on an Nfrc2 averages just under 2.5hrs/WU

Cache on a Barton will make a difference.

Your numbers are right in line, though, with where you should be.
