How long should men's cologne be kept before it goes bad?

Nevermind, I know they don't. But what I meant to ask is, do they smell like they did when you first got them?

I still sport my 12-year old bottle of Joop... I used a few dabs for every date I had.

I have some Drakkar thats way over 20 yo. It's still good, and I still wear it when I visit my sister who gave it to me.

I'm sure there isn't a vacuum tight seal or anything but the lids should be secure.
