I applied as a transfer student to UMD. They're admissions for transfers opened March 1 and my application and other information was already there. They have rolling admissions and they recieve anywhere from 6000-7500 applications for fall tranfers. So any guesses on when I should start looking to hear from them?
thanks,

I heard from Purdue exactly one week after I applied. However, it does vary greatly with each school and the number of applicants. By the way, Good Luck to you.

LOL! I thought it was kind of funny that this topic was right on top of "How long does it take to hear from Medical Schools?"

minendo: a week...wow, that is fast. I had looked at perdue as well. Still may go there for grad school...they have a good aerospace program(which is my major). Good luck there.

Jfur: I thought about calling them, but they said on some piece of paper they sent, that they dont like people to call. If it gets to end of april, then I'd call. But it has only been 2 weeks.

I guess i just was looking for an average from anyhow who has applied transfer.
thanks,

Well from what I've seen it will definitely take a while. Usually transfers get pushed to the back of the line. HS kids always get high priority esp. Honors students. I went to MSU so I don't really have any idea if it's similar or not there. I remember CMU offered me $4,000 acouple hours after I sent them my information (out of high school of course).

I guess we'll just have to see. I think a majority of freshmen have heard by now. April 1 is the standard notification date for freshmen applicants and I think a lot of people hear much sooner. I guess Im just anxious to hear from them...Im sure a lot of you know what that is like. Im hoping, since it is rolling, that I will hear by mid-april.

Most of my senior friends haven't heard from their schools yet. I wouldn't worry about it. I know you want to know if you got in but you are going to have to wait, probably 2-3 weeks. Maybe less though.

I can liive w/ 2-3 weeks. My application was there a little more than a week before applications for transfers opened on march1. So if 2-3 weeks is the norm, then I've only got a week, maybe 2, left.
