How long should it take to get your tax refund direct deposited?

I filed my return on 1/27 and I still havent received my refund. Should it take this long? I would think it wouldnt take more than 5 days. I needed the money a week ago, now I have to worry about things bouncing.

It took a couple weeks for mine (last year). Remember you're talking about the government here, nothing happens as fast as it does in the private sector. It's still MUCH faster than the old-fashioned method.

BTW, you were crazy to rely on it coming in at a certain time...

I got mine in 10 days last year, but I e-filed.
If you sent paper it could be 3 weeks.

If you e-filed, I believe it's supposed to come back (Direct deposited) in 10 - 16 days after you file.

ACtually it should be fine...I have overdraft protection and itll just get snatched out of my savings.

I just e-filed and it said it would take 7 - 10 days after it has been accepted by IRS.

i telefiled mine on monday, got the check on sat. That was state though.

hzl_eyed_grl is correct. The closer you get to April 15th, the longer you can expect your refund to take.
