How long should it take for a mod to respond to a report?

I had an issue where I was personally attacked in the Garage forum. I reported the user for attacking me and thread crapping, last night. I was wondering how long it takes for a moderator to respond?

Thanks.

Well, we all had a meeting and agreed that it was justified.

Agreed!

What? What was justified? You mean the personal attacks were justified?

😕

I haven't seen the moderator response. How long does it take?

If you really cared, you'd have posted this in the right place.

Oldsmoboat, I do care. I posted this question in the technical forums because I thought that the question "How long does it take for a moderator to respond?" was a technical question, not a personal question.

Perhaps I was mistaken. I don't seem to be getting any friendly help here, so I'll post it in another forum.

Though you'll get a longer response dealing with your specific situation in Mod Discussions, I would note that it's not any big secret that while we have several mods, all of us are assigned to specific areas. Furthermore, everyone here is a volunteer. So the succinct answer is that a report will be responded to when a mod who covers that forum gets around to reviewing said reports.

This is not to say that reports aren't important, but because this place is staffed entirely by volunteers, forum issues have to come after all the other important stuff we need to do in our lives first. And that means there is no set amount of time.

Thank you for answering my question, I appreciate it. So if I were to report someone for a personal attack, and 24 hours later I didn't receive a response, would it be okay at that point to move the question to moderator discussion? Or should I just keep waiting?

I already posted my complaint in moderator discussion. I hope I wasn't wrong. 😳

Reported posts do not usually get a response to the reporter.

Posting in Mod Discussions for what you feel is a personal issue is a way to ensure that some response will happen. It may not be what you desire, but at least there should be an answer.
