How long should I wait to be sure my money order has been lost?

I sent a M.O. to California on December 4th and the company is saying they still haven't gotten it. I sent it normal mail and didn't UPS it 'cause I thought it would have gotten there earlier. When should I think it's lost? I still have the receipt so I can go to my post office and get a refund.

I wouldn't say it's lost, the mail is soooooooo slow right now. I've got people bitching at me because priority mail is taking almost 2 weeks to get from one coast to another.

Sorry to hear about your problems idNut.

Everyone, this is why you should always use at least certified mail with delivery confirmation and signature required when sending money orders through the mail. If it's a large money order, go ahead and send it registered and insured...it'll cost more but for registered mail, the post office keeps a paper trail of every employee who touched that piece of mail.
