How long should I wait after I turn my computer off to take out my athlon to do something with it?

if you're worried about heat, a couple of minutes is more than enough. 2 hours is quite excessive!

They can stay hot for up to 20 minutes or so (if you got the HSF to 90C or so by accidently not plugging in the fan *g*

Take it apart right away, just dont touch the CPU Core for a few or it might hurt.

It's a heat thing, as they have all said...

if you're worried about electronic stuff, the few seconds it takes to open your case is more than enough

I need to clean the thermal tape stuff off of it because I jumped on the ASII band wagen I guess I'll use tweazers to pull the tape off of it.

Figure, when the fans stops turnin you can take it apart, but the cpu still gonna be hot so dont burn yourself!
