How long is the warranty on Abit motherboards?

and if their crappy northbridge falls off due to sh!tty design and fries your expensive Vid card you better hope it is a Abit too...

Yeah. My northbridge fan just flew off. Glad it didn't FU my AIW9800. I love abit but their little "we are only resonsible for our products and not damage caused to other products" disclaimer sucks. I could see if it were an electrical fault and the offending component might not be their board. That F'n heatsink is heavy and I thought for sure it cracked my vid card. What would I put on the ATI rma form
"Abit said you need to replace my $350 board because they can't make retention clips that will hold their heatsink on but thats not their fault". I'm sure ATI would send me a new one right out. BS
End Rant.

i recommend abit boards to my friends almost exclusively and i use abit board exclusively. that has never happened to me

also, what does the make of the video card have to do with it? an ATi card can be RMAed just fine if that situtation was to happen

The northbridge fan on the IC7-G is falling off of a lot of boards. The retention device is similar to fence nails pushed into the board and is not capable of holding the heatsink on. They just pull out. I think I might have a problem RMAing a vid card that had obvious physical damage such as a crack. That isn't covered under warranty.
