How long is frozen ground beef good for?

I was going through my freezer and found some ground beef that I bought 3 months ago, still unopened. Is it safe to cook? It hasn't discolored or anything.

Oh yeah, last month during the hurricanes, my power went out for a day, twice. So I'm not sure if that affected it either

Thanks

Yes. If it's frozen, it's still good after 2 years!
I often buy frozen meat from this meat store by my post office. They sell the expired meat from restaurants, such as applebees and outback. They just freeze it up. Some of the meat has a timestamp on there that says, packed in march, 1998. I take it out and grill it, still as good as new.

Meat never goes bad when you freeze it.

I'm not sure about it after the power outtages though. But usually if it hasn't changed color, it means it's still fresh.
Does it have a rancid smell? Smell is the easiest way to tell if it's good or not.

do you have a fairly full freezer? and did you keep it closed while the power was out?

if your freezer is pretty full, and kept the door shut I'd think its still fine.

the more food in there thats frozen, the longer it will all stay frozen...

True, as long as it is well sealed. Otherwise it will get Freezer Burnt, though I don't think that causes health issues, just taste.
