Opened jar of Ragu, in the fridge (top on it of course). Wondering how long it's good for, before I eat it and die. Thank you.

Just spread it on the floor...if you pick it all up before 5 seconds have passed it is still good:thumbsup:

Eww Ragu... I make my own but out of a jar I would prefer somthing with a little more "body" to it... Ragu is pretty runny if i remember correctly... lol this reminds me of last week when i saw someone put ketchup on their pasta... I almost slapped them.

if it's between 70 and 120 degrees, I wouldn't use it past four hours. The bacteria level at that point would probably be enough to make you sick.

edit: sorry, didn't see it was refrigerated. probably 3-4 days, then. At that point it's mostly a quality issue.

It's good for at least a month with the top on. I've eaten tomato sauce in an opened can that was in my fridge for a week and a half and it was still alright. And to all; you cannot get sick from eating food that has been left in a can.

 that is what I do, might explain all the stomach issues I've been having lately though...

I'd wager a bet that with the acid in tomatos, you're good for 2 weeks at least.
